    Charity SORP compliance, done properly.

ICAEW-qualified specialist support for UK charities through the 2026 SORP changes and beyond.

    ICAEW chartered
    Charity SORP FRS 102 specialists
Trusted by UK charities, £250k to £20m income

The new charity SORP is here. Is your charity ready?

The revised charity SORP applies to accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026. It brings the most significant changes to charity accounting in over a decade, and every UK registered charity preparing accounts on the accruals basis is affected. For finance teams and trustee boards, this is a genuine decision point, not a routine update.

Finance Directors and Trustees are already feeling the pressure. The new income recognition framework. The expanded fund accounting disclosures. The introduction of new lease accounting under FRS 102. The changes to the Trustees' Annual Report. The need to restate prior year comparatives. We understand exactly what is keeping you up at night, and we know how to take it off your plate without alarm or drama.

Many charities will try to handle the transition internally and find midway through that they need specialist support. Others will pay generalist accountants who do not understand the sector. A small number will get it right first time by working with a firm that does only charity finance.

Charity Accounting Partners is one of those firms.

A calm, guided path through SORP 2026

    SORP transition planning

We assess where your current accounts sit against the new framework and build a clear, prioritised plan for your charity's first SORP-compliant year. No surprises, no last-minute panic.

A clean, board-ready first year under the new SORP

We handle the technical work behind the scenes, updating your comparatives, fund treatment and disclosures, so your first year under the new framework is calm, credible and audit-ready.

A Trustees' Annual Report that strengthens your story

Our team refreshes your Trustees' Annual Report so it meets the expanded expectations and reads as a confident, funder-ready account of the year, not a compliance box-tick.

Ongoing finance support from a charity-only team

Beyond the transition, we can act as your outsourced finance function, independent examiner or Finance Director, so leadership always has senior charity-finance support to lean on.

    Trustee and Finance Committee briefings

We run private briefing sessions for trustee boards and finance committees on what the SORP changes mean for governance, fundraising disclosure, and financial decision-making.

A smoother audit or independent examination

For charities above the audit threshold, we prepare your year-end file so your examiner or auditor has everything they need. Less back-and-forth, fewer queries, a faster sign-off.

Charity finance is different. Your accountant should be too.

Charity finance is genuinely different from commercial finance. Restricted and unrestricted funds. Statement of Financial Activities, not a profit and loss. Gift Aid mechanics. The Charity Commission as a regulator alongside Companies House. Most accountants encounter charity work occasionally; the technical detail is unforgiving and the consequences of getting it wrong include qualified independent examiner reports, governance challenges, and funder withdrawals.

Charity Accounting Partners works only in the charity sector. ICAEW chartered, KPMG-trained leadership, with a fully remote UK-wide model that delivers senior expertise without London-firm pricing. Trusted by UK charities from £250,000 income through to multi-million-pound international organisations.

Charity finance is what we do. Nothing else.
